I know it's too late to apologize to him now, but I feel like I have to say this:

Michael, I am so sorry about what the people said about you so very often. I defended you to my friends when they made jokes but I couldn't shut people up. You had so much love for so many people and made so many more happy with your beauty and talent. The people who hated you yelled loudest, but there are a lot of us who love and miss you, and I can say with confidence that I am not the only one who dismissed the tabloids and felt bad when others jeered and laughed.

With your death, Michael, a bright light was suddenly put out. Your presence is sorely missed.
